Beautiful Feet- Beautifully meshing literature together with each historical period making history come alive. Our family used Beautiful Feet for the study of the Ancient World and also the Medieval World. We adapted for some of the children at the junior high level and others at the high school level. It worked very well for us. We liked the literature selections very much, even enjoyed reading parts for Shakespeare's Julius Caesar while studying Rome. Genevieve Foster books are used as an anchor book for many of the historical periods covered by the Beautiful Feet Guides. Beautiful Feet reviews.

Childhood of Famous Americans SERIES-This biographical book series is one of the easiest ways I know of for children to learn about history. The biographies are engaging and bring much into the stories that children can identify with. By the time they finish a book, they not only know a lot about one famous American, but also, they have gleaned much about a period of history. Highly recommended!

History Through the Ages Timeline (Homeschool in the Woods)- I really enjoy using timelines for history studies. The history characters and events are artistically drawn in pen and ink with realistic detail. It is not only useful, but it is beautiful. It comes with directions and suggestions for making the most of your timeline creations. Many options are explained such as a notebook timeline, a wall chart timeline, and a foldout timeline. All are easy to make with this set.  I highly recommend History Through the Ages Time.

Streams of Civilization - a 2 year book series that covers high school history, starting with ancient history and ending with modern history.  If you like to use textbooks for high school courses, this text is one you will want to check out.  One of our sons used the Streams of Civilization Volume 1 to take a correspondence course with Christian Liberty CLASS for 9th grade history. Through that course we were provided with multiple choice tests for the text.  With our other children, the Streams of Civilization was a backup resource for our history studies. The text offers many activity and project ideas that can be easily incorporated into a homeschool when the children have interest.  Timelines and teachers' manuals are also available. I highly recommend these texts for high school history.

What in the World's Going on Here? -Diana Waring -We used this set as a great overview of history. It doesn't take long to listen to, but gives a terrific framework for history as well as many gems of interesting history information that I had not heard before. Very entertaining and interesting.
