Daily Homeschool Downloads-FREE
Daily Freebies From Homeschool Freebie of the Day
I have discovered a great homeschool resource! Jim Erskine who lives up in Kentucky has set up a site that gives away free homeschool materials, one per day Monday through Friday. Go to Homeschool Freebie Of The Day.
Monday, August 17th: How To Build a Log Cabin! by Amy Puetz (pdf ebook) –A log cabin adventure and how to make your own log cabin using firewood.
Tuesday, August 18th: The Book of 500 Curious Puzzles (pdf ebook) –A classic collection of all sorts of odd and interesting puzzles, riddles, mazes, math problems and oddities to challenge and bemuse young puzzle lovers. Originally published in 1859.
Wednesday, August 19th: Home Management Nuts & Bolts: Budgets and Schedules (mp3 audio) –Learn how to apply basic project management principles in the home to help you be a better steward of your time and money. Audio workshop by Marc Carrier.
Thursday, August 20th: Mary Frances First Aid Book (pdf ebook) –Another classic volume in the Mary Frances series; Mary Frances learns about First Aid from the adventures of her doll family, and along the way discovers some practical ways to render first aid to the sick and injured herself.
Friday, August 21st: TO BE ANNOUNCED
Each of these resources will be available on its specified day. I have found that they are usually available the day after, too (at least- maybe for longer than that).
Thanks to Denese at Paw Paw Holler Home for this info.

Hi Julie,
I stopped by the other day but had to go before I ever got to your blog, -I’m adding it to my reader.
So glad you could use this info and it is a great thing thing Mr. Jim does. Do you know about the Erskine’s other site? Homeschool Radio Shows -one free old time radio show a week; they are really great for audio learners(my Daniel’s favorite freebies).
I guess it’s kind of my mission to help other homeschoolers find free educational resources, I know sooo many that spend hundreds of dollars on one type of curriculum or another, end up not using it much and spending more money on something else a couple months down the road -year after year!
I’ll be back tomorrow and check your site out a little better -looks great so far!
Blessings
Hi Denese,
Thanks so much for visiting Best Homeschool Buys and for leaving a couple of comments. You certainly encouraged me.
I agree with your mission to help homeschooling families save money. We all know what a financial struggle homeschooling can be with a big family and usually only one income.
So glad to have a connect to you. We just moved to Tennessee in Mar 09. This is the 9th state we’ve lived in (all in the Southeast) and it is the most beautiful! We are in Williamson county south of Nashville
We’ve homeschooled over 20 years and are in the last years now with only 1 of 5 still in high school. But I have such a heart for homeschooling and want to help others I am really enjoying developing my website/blog.
See you soon.
Julie
