    • Best Homeschool Buys is committed to helping you make informed choices on your homeschooling resources.  We recognize that something is only a good investment if it is a good fit for your family.  With all the curriculum choices out there now for homeschoolers, it can be very difficult to determine what to use!  Hopefully, our experiences and review can help you find YOUR best homeschool buy!

Over the past 13 years of homeschooling my children, there have been several curriculum trials and errors.  I have found that there is no one right method of homeschooling, so long as you are prayerful and intentional.  There is no one curriculum that is the BEST for everyone either.  I have also found that there are seasons, in our parenting and in our circumstances, that call for different kinds of curriculum choices.  There is a place for exploration and relaxed homeschooling.  There is also a place for textbook education and a “get it done” approach.  How YOU choose to educate your child is between you and the Lord.

With that in mind, let us start with, what we have termed, EVERGREEN HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM .  For families with two or more children, this is a great way to save money and provide a quality education for your kids.  Do you use non-consumables?  Do you use living books?  Then you are using evergreen methods!

Did you know that you can take a consumable workbook and reuse it if you cut off the spine and use sheet protectors?  I have done this with math workbooks, grammar workbooks, language arts workbooks and Bible workbooks.  These are things that I know I want to use again with the younger children.  I have also used clear overhead projector sheets for workbook pages.   What are some Evergreen Homeschool Methods you have incorporated in your homeschool?

We would love to hear from you.  Let us encourage one another as we all walk together!

      Heather

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
