Hello, my name is Julie Simmons.  I am a veteran homeschooling mother married to Tim who was my high school sweetheart.  Since our children were born, we have pursued the path of full time family- that is with one or both parents at home actively investing time in the children and substituting learning at home and out in the real world for learning in a traditional school.  After 25 years of homeschooling, I have much to share about its advantages and benefits for our family.  I am only teaching our youngest child now who is in high school; the 4 older children have gone on to college, etc.

The mission of Best Homeschool Buys website is to connect homeschooling families to affordable homeschool curriculum. We offer an organized menu of used homeschoool books available on eBay. Many of these homeschool curricula and homeschool books have been used by our family at one time or another, or we have included the  award winning homeschool curricula that many people are searching for.  If you know of a particular curriculum that you would like to see included, please send me an email. I can try to include it in the menu if it is regularly available on eBay.

In addition to linking to bargain homeschool curricula,  we are began building a homeschool reviews section in Fall, 2009. Here we will begin with reviews on curriculum and invite our visitors to add their opionions and experiences with curriculum that is reviewed. This will hopefully give families information that will help them make homeschool curriculum decisions.

Homeschooling Boys with Unit Studies

We made frontiersman "buckskin" clothing, coonskin caps, and paper mache shotguns with powder horns. Lane, Nathan, and Robert really enjoyed the way we homeschooled in the early years using unit studies.
